Norton ES2 1960 - 500cc

Original green colour.  Was a Model 50 but converted to ES2 but replacing original 250 engine with a 500cc.  Although heavy, the ride from the wide-line Featherbed frame make this bike a dream to ride.

Rex Acme 1926 - 350cc

This bike was originally ridden by David Whitworth in pre-war races at Donnington and Brooklands race tracks.  Owned and entered in various events by my late father, "Titch" Allen, he achieved a standing quarter mile in 18.01 seconds back in 1972.  This is me at Mallory Park as part of the Past Masters parade at the VMCC Festival of 1000 bikes in 2016.  The bike is a delight to ride being very light and easy to manoeuvre.  It is currently on display at Brooklands Museum.

Norton ES2 1948 - 500cc - With sidecar

Old Faithful - 1948 ES2 with tele forms and plunger frame.  Believe it or not but I actually went to school back in the early 1070's on this very bike.  Although my fathers, i could always rely on his to start when mine (a similar but slightly later model) would not (or was out of petrol).  Interestingly the tele forks are made from turned steel and not cast alloy as you would expect.  The factory records also show this never left the factory.  The conclusion we came to was that this was a factory 'hack' bike and the forks were the original prototype of the Roadholder forms later fitted almost every Norton for over a decade.
